2023 Norgard Vineyard Chenin Blanc
The richest and most complex new release of Norgard Vineyard Chenin Blanc shows our understanding of this vineyard continuing to grow. 2023 continues our experimentation with new French oak puncheons, this time trialing a new forest selection from DAMY Cooperages.
Native yeast fermented and aged for 12 months in concrete egg and French oak puncheons (30% New), then in tank for 6 more to finish. Lovely white tea and jasmine flower, flinty and elegant, with a nose that is a touch shy but blooms with a little air to show its richness. Undercurrents of orange blossom and honeysuckle that is typical of Norgard. On the palate, the wine is broader and more open than previous releases. Leaning almost into ripe peach, the 2023 shows more stone fruits enveloped by a stony minerality. 250 Cases Produced.
